A new hero is coming to town for Titans season two. It was announced Wednesday that Conner Kent, aka Superboy, would be joining the team for its second outing. Joshua Orpin is set to play Superboy.
Conner Kent is the second hero to carry the title of Superboy in the comics. Originally appearing in DC’s ‘Death of Superman’ event, Kent was an alleged clone of Superman. He was meant to fill the void left after the Man of Steel’s untimely demise. However, as he begins to learn more about his past, Kent quickly learns not everything is what it seems. Karl Kesel and Tom Grummett created the character for the comics but it’s unclear how faithful the small screen adaptation will be to that rendition of the character.
For the series, however, Kent is a lost son of Krypton looking for the truth about his mysterious past. His search brings him to Earth where he meets the Titans. Kent will apparently struggle with his place in the team while trying to uncover his history, like his comic counterpart. During this time, he will make discoveries that complicate his journey and relationships with the Titans though.
Orpin only has five small credits to his name on IMDb, one of which has yet to release. So, this will hopefully be a breakout role for him.
Titans season one is available now on DC Universe.
