Zombieland just got a little bit bigger. The original already featured a stacked cast and the sequel has recently added some big names to its call sheet. Well, that call sheet grew again Monday as it was announced that Silicon Valley star Thomas Middleditch will appear in Zombieland: Double Tap. Variety first reported this story.
No details have been revealed about who Middleditch is playing as the production has stayed mostly quiet. With a release quickly approaching later this year, it’s surprising we don’t even have an official poster for the film yet. Sony did post a promotional picture a few weeks ago but it wasn’t anything official and only served to capitalize on an internet trend at the time.
Zombieland made a healthy $75 million against a $25 million budget so its kind of a surprise it’s taken this long for a sequel. However, that is mostly due to the busy schedules of the original cast and director. Abagail Breslin, Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, and Emma Stone are all reprising their roles for the sequel. Original director Ruben Fleischer, as well as writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese are all returning for the sequel.
Zombieland: Double Tap hits theaters later this year on October 11th.
