The Hollywood Reporter has suggested that NBC’s hit drama series, This Is Us, will end after its sixth season. NBC representatives have yet to confirm this news, but it does fall in line with previous reports. When the show was renewed for three new seasons back in 2019, representatives from NBC indicated that the show would end after its sixth season. Adding on, This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman indicated that the show was at its “midpoint” after season three.
“We never set out to make a television series that was going to last 18 seasons, so we have a very direct plan. I have script pages I have written and I’m writing that really are deep, deep, deep into the future. We have a plan for what we’re going to do, and I know what the plan is,” he told The Hollywood Reporter.
This Is Us is one of the most successful drama series of the last five series. It has earned recognition from the SAG Awards, Emmy Awards, Golden Globe Awards and NAACP Image Awards. With This Is Us leaving, NBC will turn its attention toward dramas like Chicago Med and comedies like Kenan.
