Production of Insecure’s latest season is underway. While that gets going, Insecure‘s lead, Issa Rae, took time to give fans an update on another one of her projects.
Earlier this morning, Universal Pictures released the first official trailer for The Photograph starring Rae and Lakeith Stanfield. The film will follow the parallel love story of Rae and her character’s mother in the months following her passing.
As described by Universal Pictures, “When famed photographer Christina Eames unexpectedly dies, she leaves her estranged daughter Mae Morton (Rae) hurt, angry and full of questions.”
The movie studio continues, “When a photograph tucked away in a safe-deposit box is found, Mae finds herself on a journey delving into her mother’s early life and ignites a powerful, unexpected romance with a rising-star journalist, Michael Block (Stanfield).”
In addition to Stanfield and Rae, Y’lan Noel of Insecure, Chanté Adams of Roxanne Roxanne and Lil’ Rel Howery of Get Out will appear in the field. Behind the scenes, Will Packer will act as the film’s lead producer.
The Photograph will arrive in theaters on February 14th 2020.
