For two decades, Spongebob Squarepants entertained viewers of all ages on Nickelodeon. A key contributor to the show’s long run was Spongebob’s best friend, Patrick Star. After playing the background for years, Patrick is ready to step into the spotlight. Nickelodeon has shared the first trailer for their upcoming spinoff series, The Patrick Star Show.
Fans of the original series will not have to worry. Bill Fagerbakke will return to voice Patrick Star. The new show will follow a much younger Patrick Star as he lives at home with his family. While at home, he hosts a daily television show from his bedroom.
“Follow everyone’s favorite sea star at home with his family as he hosts an imaginary variety show that comes from the bizarre and hysterical depths of his own brain,” the series description reads.
The first season will include 13 new episodes. Episode one is set to debut in July, but until then, check out the first trailer below.
