Lamar Odom. Reliable bench player. Husband to one of Americas most famous socialites and now rapidly becoming “the” story. And what’s amazing about this story is that we’re learning so much in such little time. Lets start from the beginning… Last week.
There were reports that Lamar Odom has been battling a drug problem for 2 years! So as the media caught wind of this, everyone decided to start digging some more and lo and behold! Lamar Odom has been missing for 2 days! Turns out that nobody knows where he was and family members were phoning him, asking him to come back, wondering if he’s gone on a bender, thinking of the worst but then his agent calmed everyone down saying “its okay everyone, I know where he is”. I’m paraphrasing. So at this point everyone is on “Odom Watch” (I made that up on the spot).
But there was a brief moment where Lamar had a chance to redeem himself. The Los Angeles Lakers offered Lamar a contract on the one condition that he goes to rehab. But Lamar rejects the offer saying that he’ll kick the addiction on his own.
I’m no Dr.Drew or anything but if he hasn’t kicked it in the past two years how can he do it now? So as he rejects a (lets face it) lifeline he then gets arrested on a DUI charge!
It’s amazing how people go off the rails. And what gets me angry is how he rejects help!
