Last week on The Good Place the gang finally visited the real Good Place. Eleanor and Chidi started their relationship in earnest with their first real date. Meanwhile, Tahani helped Jason try to work through his feelings for Janet, and vice versa. Above the humdrum human drama though, Michael shared his findings about the points system with the Good Place committee. He didn’t like their plan for a 1500-year investigation to solve the problem though and decided to meet the Judge and try to fix it ASAP.
That meeting takes place at IHOP (the Interdimensional House of Pancakes) or, in other words: “the most dangerous place in the universe.” Judge Gen returns to confront Michael in IHOP, he then brings up his findings on the point system. She doesn’t believe him but, after a trip down to Earth, she changes her tune and teleports them all to a conference room to negotiate. Shawn is there to argue against changing the system as he still thinks humans can’t be redeemed.
However, Michael uses the four humans as an example of how they can change and become better. Chidi then, after a short detour through the space-time continuum, stands up and shares how he and the group were changed through their experiences in the afterlife. Judge Gen is moved and decides to give Michael a chance to prove his theory. She lets him up a new fake Good Place in Mindy St. Claire’s Medium Place to see if they change for the better.
Michael is excited at first but as he and Janet start building the neighborhood, Shawn shows up to taunt him. This leaves Michael crushed and Eleanor has to step up and help him. Earlier, Jason confessed he may have feelings for Janet and the two decided to go on a date. However, this is complicated in the Medium Place when Derek, Janet’s ex, appears. Janet confirms her feelings for Jason though and the two reaffirm their plan to go out together.
The Good Place airs Thursday nights on NBC
