New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has announced that the New York Department of Health will investigate a concert headlined by The Chainsmokers in Southampton.
The concert was set to take place in the Southampton on Saturday. Initial reports suggest that the show was set up to take place in a drive-in setting. Unfortunately, video shows that attendees got out of their car and violated the state’s social distancing guidelines.
Shortly after The Chainsmokers performance, video of the concert made the rounds on social media. Gov. Cuomo eventually stumbled upon the video and tweeted about it.

The Department of Health will conduct an investigation.

“Videos from a concert held in Southampton on Saturday show egregious social distancing violations. I am appalled,” he tweeted.
“We have no tolerance for the illegal & reckless endangerment of public health,” he continued.
As of now, it is unclear whether the state’s investigation will target the concert organizers, the attendees or the performers. The Chainsmokers have not tweeted since Cuomo’s investigation announcement.
