Netflix has a number of major projects in the works that are set to debut this year, but few are expected to generate the amount of attention that The Adam Project will.
Led by Ryan Reynolds, Zoe Saldana and Walker Scobell, the sci-fi wild ride will tell the story of 12-year-old Adam Reed. Following the death of his father, Reed endures a rough patch that involves getting bullied at school and questioning where he’ll go next. Just as he’s about to fall deeper into downward spiral, he meets himself. Yes, you read that correctly. An older version of Adam Reed crash lands a futuristic jet into the forest behind his childhood home and seeks refugee in his father’s shed. Immediately following the crash, the younger Adam Reed meets the older Adam Reed and they recreate the infamous Spider-Man meme. In that interaction, the older Reed reveals that he’s a time traveling pilot and assures his younger self that things will work out. However, there’s a catch. The older Reed needs the younger Reed to help him along his time traveling mission to save the world. From there, chaos ensues.
The Adam Project will debut on Netflix later this month. While we wait for next Friday to roll around, watch the final trailer below.
