Tessa Thompson is set to join the cast of The Invite. The Creed star is cast to play the role of Kayla, a “boisterous” neighbor who makes an interesting offer to the couple living next door.
[The Invite] tells the story of Joe and Angela, who after 15 years of marriage, find that their relationship is in a rut. Desperate to have a conversation that isn’t focused on their marital woes, Angela invites their boisterous neighbors, Kayla and Shane, over for cocktails,” the film’s logline reads, according to Deadline.“Joe, irritated at having to engage with this disruptive couple, plans to use the occasion to confront them; however, both he and Angela get far more than they bargained for as sparks fly and they discover Shane and Kayla are hosting weekly orgies and have an invite of their own to offer.”
Paul Rudd is reportedly cast to play the role of Joe while Amy Adams is expected to portray Angela. However, it is unclear who will play the role of Shane at the moment. Behind the scenes, Rashida Jones and Will McCormick will write the script while Academy Award nominee David Permut is on board to produce.
