As time goes on, it’s proved extremely hard for many artists to age gracefully. However, a handful have managed to age with elegance. Jay-Z has managed to develop his content while remaining relevant to a younger audience and Nas has managed to age with an ere of respect. On the R&B end of things, aging with grace has proved to be even more difficult. Not long ago, Usher was dealt a massive amount criticism for his Zaytoven produced album, A. In contrast, artists like Tank have managed to avoid such criticism with music for the grown and sexy.
This week, Tank is back with another R&B anthem. Tank’s latest effort is called “Dirty” and it delivers everything we’ve come to expect from the R&B legend. Tank sings, “F*ckin’ you deep, takin’ pics on my phone/Put you to sleep, when you wake up, it’s dawn/I’ll violate all the meat on your bones.” Needless to say, this new R&B record is for those old enough to remember when Tank began as back up singer for Ginuwine. For any other audience, this record is wildly inappropriate. For those old enough, listen to Tank’s latest single, “Dirty”, and let us know what you think.
