
Solána “SZA” Rowe will receive the “Woman of the Year” award at the 2023 Billboard Women in Music Awards.
“Since she burst onto the scene in 2017, SZA has defied genres and continually released raw, powerful songs which have landed her music on the Billboard charts,” Billboard Editorial Director Hannah Karp said.
“The release of her latest album, SOS, has solidified her as a distinct force in contemporary R&B, and catapulted her into superstardom. We can’t wait to honor her as Woman of the Year.”
The Top Dawg Entertainment artist ended 2022 by releasing her sophomore studio album, SOS, in November. Clocking in at nearly 70 minutes, the 23-track project includes contributions from Phoebe Bridgers, Don Toliver, Travis Scott and Ol’ Dirty Bastard. With more than 400 million streams during its first week, the LP debuted at number one and has not relinquished its spot on the Billboard 200 since.
At the end of the month, SZA will embark on the SOS tour. The 19-date North American run will kick off on February 21, 2023 in Columbus, Ohio at Value Center Arena. From there, she will make stops in Boston, Philadelphia, New York, Dallas, Oakland an several other cities. Ultimately, the tour will conclude on March 23, 2023 in Inglewood, California at the Kia Forum.
Before SZA kicks off her latest tour, she will accept the “Woman of the Year” award at the 2023 Billboard Women in Music Awards on March 1, 2023 at the YouTube Theater.
