It is the time of the year that many of us in the Tri-state area look forward to and that is the annual Hot 97 Summer Jam Concert. As the weather gets warmer, festival/concert season approaches and with being the biggest in NYC so to speak, there is a certain reputation the folks at Hot 9 have to uphold. The countdown to Summer Jam is just as exciting as the day of simply because the anticipation with finding out who are the artist that will be gracing not only the main stage at Summer Jam but the Festival stage. For what it’s worth there have been years when the main stage has overshadowed the festival stage substantially but then there has been that occurance where the festival stage is clearly the fan favorite. The difference between the two is simply, up and coming artist whose buzz has grown significantly over the past year or so and the main stage is those main stream artist who have established themselves within the ranks of Hip Hop and R&B.
Last years Festival Stage lineup consisted of Travis $cott, DeJ Loaf, B.o.B, Joey Bada$$ and Teyana Taylor. As for their phase 1 of announcements for Summer Jam 2016 the festival stage has been announced and for this year we can look forward to Chance The Rapper, Tory Lanez, Post Malone, Desiigner, Curren$y, Justine Skye, Dave East, Dougie F & Rotimi. The line up is not that bad and if you haven’t seen the displeasure yet on social media it’s clear there should have been a few others included.
