Brooklyn Bred Muzik’s own, Dapa Don has finally released his anticipated project, “Chicken George”.
Off the strength that Dap is releasing this project to cap off Black History Month, you have to respect that. But more importantly, the journey leading up to “Chicken George” goes to show the work ethic he’s put into following up his FOOD 2 project. Now for what it’s worth, Chicken George displays a significant growth and risk taking Dapa Don is willing to endure to deliver a stellar project.
For one it should be noted he wrote the entire project while out of the states. He mentioned the Bahamas or Barbados while at the listening party but I’d be a liar if I said I remembered, blame the D’usse that was on hand.
“Chicken George” serves up a mixture of R& B driven records and of course Hip-Hop/Rap. A little something for everybody is on display here throughout the 14 tracks. Whether you want relationship stuff, ladies if you want to feel sexy and pre-game before going out and for the streets, Dap has that too.
Featuring such artist as Phil Walker, Lisa Fine, Jay Prezi, Cash Sinatra, IknowBrasco, Jus Smith, and Boss China, there’s no shortage of talent on display. As Dap would tell you this is his more freeing body of work and you can tell as he raps, sings and decides to strut his wings (Chicken George, no?) by providing instrumentation on the project too.
All in all, I can honestly say I enjoyed this project as it takes you on a ride through an array of different vibes. Without holding you guys any longer, stream “Chicken George” below.
