Within the last few years, Matt Damon has cemented himself as an executive producer in Hollywood. From film to television, Damon has put his stamp on Incorporated, City On A Hill, The Last Duel, Thirst, Apostle Paul, Witness For The Prosecution and Green Beret’s Guide to Surviving the Apocalypse. Still, Damon is one of the biggest names in film when he elects to step in front of the camera. This summer, he’s transformed into the role of Bill Baker in Stillwater.
“Stillwater follows an American oil-rig roughneck from Oklahoma who travels to Marseille to visit his estranged daughter, in prison for a murder she claims she did not commit. Confronted with language barriers, cultural differences, and a complicated legal system, Bill builds a new life for himself in France as he makes it his personal mission to exonerate his daughter,” Focus Features writes.
Stillwater is led by Academy Award® winning director Tom McCarthy. Damon is joined by Camille Cotton, Abigail Breslin and Deanna Dunagan throughout the film. Check out the Stillwater trailer below.
