It’s been nearly two decades since there was a Shaft film, but that is all about to change this summer. On June 14th, Warner Bros. will drop a brand new film in the Shaft series called Son of Shaft. The 2019 motion picture will act as a direct sequel to the 2000 film starring Samuel Jackson. The new movie will focus on Shaft’s son, Jessie T. Usher, and his quest to find the person responsible for killing his best friend. Along the way, he will turn to his father and grandfather, Samuel Jackson and Richard Roundtree. With the film set to hit theaters in just a few months, Warner Bros. has dropped a brand new trailer for the film.

Three generations of Shaft will team up for the fifth installment of the series. In addition, viewers can expect to see Method Man and Regina Hall make an appearance in the upcoming movie.
