Smino has returned with good news. First and foremost, he has delivered a new track called “24-8” in honor of the late Kobe Bryant. Gliding over production from Phoelix, he finds a pocket that only he can as he bends syllables, plays with flows and raps about trips to Alaska.
“Twenty inches when I’m passin’, run the globe in my khakis/For the cash, n*gga go Cassius, I’m the clay, tryna break the mold/Just took baby to Alaska, snowflakes in the lashes/I been prayin’ for the p*ssy, holy box, Alabaster,” he raps.
In addition to delivering new music, Smino also hinted that his highly-anticipated album, Love For Rent, may be arriving in October. Within the description of the “24-8” video, he slipped in a note for his fan to read.
“Droptober,” the St. Louis native wrote.
“[I appreciate everybody] who [has] been rocking [with me through] the years [and through] the label change. [There are] some real [cool] people after the music now and I’m excited to show y’all how much I [have] grown.”
Smino release his most recent project, She Already Decided, in April 2020. Since then, he’s delivered loosies like “I Deserve” while producing tracks like “Stil” for Saba and 6LACK. He also has production placements on Lucky Daye’s Candydrip, Ravyn Lenae’s Hypnos, EarthGang’s Ghetto Gods and Westside Boogie’s More Black Superheroes.
