Leading up to Super Bowl LVII, a number of stars, including Drake, Cardi B and Travis Scott, have delivered showstopping performances. With that in mind, it only made sense that the big game kicked off with a few vocal performances as well. Taking time away from her class at Abbott Elementary, Sheryl Lee Ralph delivered a showstopping performance of “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”
“Lift every voice and sing/Till earth and heaven ring, Ring with the harmonies of Liberty/Let our rejoicing rise,” she sang.
Ralph is not the only star to display their vocal talents prior to the start of Super Bow LVII. Eight-time Grammy Award winner Chris Stapleton delivered a performance of the National Anthem. Also, hitmaking legend Babyface sang “America, The Beautiful.” To top it all off, Rihanna is set to perform at halftime of the big game.
Beyond her vocal talents, Ralph has been a fixture on Quinta Brunson’s hit ABC series, Abbott Elementary. Starring alongside Brunson, Tyler James Williams, Janelle James, Lisa Ann Walter and Chris Perfetti, she has won her first Primetime Emmy Award and earned a Golden Globe Award nomination. Having won an Emmy and a Tony, she is halfway along her journey to becoming an EGOT. While we wait for her to make her way to the top of film and music, check out her performance of “Lift Every Voice and Sing” below.
