One of the top free agents left on the market may be getting closer to joining a team for the upcoming season. Guard/forward Shabazz Muhammad is interested in joining the Los Angeles Lakers according to Eric Pincus of Basketball Insiders. Muhammad’s former agent Rob Pelinka was named the general manager of the Lakers in February.
I'm told Shabazz Muhammad considering joining his former agent Rob Pelinka with Lakers, LA considering options as well

Muhammad spent his first four seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves, averaging 9.7 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. The 14th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, Muhammad was seemingly the odd-man out in Minnesota. The Timberwolves had showed interest in retaining him, but they have not advanced any further. Muhammad hired agent Rich Paul back in April who helped his other client, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, get a one-year deal with the Lakers this past offseason. Muhammad was also born in Los Angeles and played collegiately at UCLA.
Shabazz Muhammad has had a clean bill of health the last two seasons, playing in 82 and 78 games respectively. The opportunity to play near home could revitalize the young wing’s career while giving him a fresh start on a young Lakers’ team. There has been steady interest in Muhammad this offseason and even at the trade deadline in February.
