Five-star 2019 wing Scottie Lewis has made his decision to commit to the Florida Gators. The New Jersey native chose Florida over schools such as Duke, Harvard, Kentucky, Stanford, St. Johns, and Villanova.
Lewis is ranked 11th in the country via 247Sports and was projected to land in Gainesville. The lengthy wing is highly regarded as an immediate program-changing talent. Likely an NBA lottery pick in the future, Lewis’ two-way prowess paired with high-level athleticism make him a rare talent.
This commitment serves as the cherry on top of the excellent recruiting cake that Mike White has been baking this cycle. Lewis joins five-star guard Tre Mann, four-star center Omar Payne, and high school teammate Alex Klatsky in Florida’s 2019 recruiting class. This lands the Gators’ recruiting class firmly in the top 5 nationally. Scottie Lewis is now the best recruit to commit his services to Florida in the Mike White era.
Florida fans will be excited heading into the next few seasons. Mike White now officially has this program back on track to becoming a national power with the commitment of a player such as Scottie Lewis- and the class as a whole.
