Thirty-one years after releasing his debut album, Houston’s own Scarface has announced that he will be embarking on his final tour this summer. Beginning July 8, 2022 the Houston legend will hit 32 cities across the country, including Oakland, Portland, Kansas City, Nashville, Cleveland, Pittsburg, New York and Dallas. Tickets for the nationwide tour will go on sale later this week.
Scarface is one of the greatest writers to ever pick up a microphone. Over the course of three decades, the Houston native released nearly a dozen solo albums, seven Geto Boys albums and a trio of compilation projects. In 2015, he awarded the “I Am Hip-Hop” award at the 2015 BET Hip Hop Awards. Today, he is known as one of the greatest MCs in the history of the genre.
Beyond his music career, Scarface has entered into a career of public service. Not only has he run for city council in Houston, but he has also launched his own nonprofit, Positive Purpose Movement. He uses his platform to develop programs for the education, enrichment and empowerment of underrepresented communities.
