Former White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will return to the nation’s capital on Tuesday. The newly-elected Arkansas Governor will deliver the Republican Party’s response to President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address.
“While President Biden keeps repeating old mistakes and failing Americans, a rising generation of Republican Governors are fighting for families, advancing new solutions, and winning,” Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell said.
During his State of the Union address, President Joe Biden is expected to highlight his administration’s efforts to create jobs and improve the country’s infrastructure. The specifics of Sanders’ response are still unclear, but she has not held back in her critiques of the President. Recently, she has been extremely critical of the President’s immigration policies and response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I’m honored to have the opportunity to address the nation after the State of the Union on Tuesday,” Sanders tweeted.
“What America needs – and what Republicans are offering – is a return to common sense and a commitment to the ideals that made America the land of the free and home of the brave.”
Sanders’ response will be delivered immediately after the President’s remarks conclude, which are scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. EST.
