The Dallas Mavericks and veteran center Samuel Dalembert have agreed to a reconciliation. Dalembert and his old club have signed off on a one-year contract that’ll play him the veteran minimum of $1.4M. It was first reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports:

This is like a creepy kind of deja vu for the Mavs and Dalembert. Dallas signed him two years ago after they missed out on star center Dwight Howard who decided to take his talents to the Houston Rockets. Eerily similar to this second signing after they missed out on another big name free agent in DeAndre Jordan. They sent Dalembert to the New York Knicks as part of the deal that brought in Tyson Chandler. Either way, signing Dalembert, who will most likely be your starting center, at a league minimum is a pretty decent consolation prize.
Dallas hasn’t improved this offseason, in fact they’ve probably gotten worse. They went from Western Conference contender to borderline playoff team. They switched out a Rajon Rondo–Monta Ellis backourt for a Deron Williams–Wesley Matthews one. They lost center Tyson Chandler but added Zaza Pachulia and now Dalembert. They had also been in discussions with JaVale McGee and that will not change. Similar to his last stint with Dallas, Dalembert looks to step in and start at center immediately. Overall, a rare good signing by Owner Mark Cuban this summer.
