Actor Ryan Gosling is reportedly closing in on his next role. According to multiple reports, the Hollywood star is inching towards a deal to appear in the upcoming Star Wars movie from director Shawn Levy. However, as usual, details regarding the specific role and the direction of the franchise’s next installment are being kept a secret.
Gosling is best known for his roles in original films such as The Notebook, Remember The Titans, La La Land, and Drive. With that said, he’s no stranger to a role in an established franchise. Throughout his career, he’s appeared in films like Blade Runner 2049 and held roles in series like Goosebumps.
Like Gosling, Levy knows what it’s like to contribute to a fan-favorite franchise. He’s directed 2003’s Cheaper By The Dozen, Deadpool & Wolverine, and led the Night At The Museum film series. Now, he’s in the third year of developing the highly anticipated Star Wars return with his longtime collaborator, Jonathan Tropper, who is writing the script.
No other casting decisions have been revealed just yet, but initial reports point toward a December 17, 2027 release for Levy and Gosling’s project.
