Halle Berry hasn’t played the role of Storm in a decade, but she’s not opposed to returning to the DC Universe. During a recent interview with Comic Book, Berry said that she would have happily returned to the big screen as a member of the X-Men for the recently released Deadpool & Wolverine, but she was simply never asked to do so.
“Blake [Lively] asked me one time, I ran into her at a Marc Jacobs fashion show, and she said, ‘Would you ever be in my husband’s movie as Storm?’ I said, ‘Yeah, if [her husband, Ryan Reynolds,] asked me,’ but he never asked me,” she explained.
While her former co-star, Hugh Jackman, did appear in the film as Wolverine, the movie isn’t particularly about the X-Men. However, it does feature a litany of cameos, including Wesley Snipes returning as Blade and Jennifer Garner as Elektra.
Berry may not be returning to the big screen as Storm, but she is making the rounds in promotion for her new movie, The Union. Starring alongside Mark Wahlberg, she plays the actor’s high school sweetheart, Roxanne, who recruits him for a high-stakes intelligence mission. The movie is set to hit Netflix on Friday, August 16.
