Rajon Rondo had his best performance in a Maverick uniform Friday night against the Lakers as the Dallas point guard flirted with a triple-double.
Rondo finished with 21 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists as Dallas downed the Los Angeles Lakers 102-98.
Kobe Bryant missed his third straight game to rest his “sore body.” It’s unclear whether he’ll play Sunday when the Lakers face the Suns.
Nick Young, who finished with 15 points, nailed four three pointers in the fourth quarter as the Lakers would trail within four points with under a minute left in regulation.
That was as close as they would get as Dallas made their free throws to seal the victory.
Dirk Nowtizki finished with 14 points for the Mavs and moved into 8th all time on the NBA’s scoring list passing Elvin Hayes. Dirk now has 27,322 points in his hall of fame career.
