Rod Wave has delivered the latest single from his upcoming album, Soulfly. Backed by an outstanding choir, the Florida native shines on “Tombstone” as he sings about overcoming hardships and reaching the highest of heights. Before it’s all said and done, he wants to leave his mark not only on the music industry, but also on those who love him and support him most.
“And f*ck these n*ggas ’cause they lame/Since they love saying my name/Make sure you write the truest in the motherfucking game/On my tombstone when they bury me,” he sings.
“On my tombstone when they bury me/By the river, they will carry me/Finally, I’ll be resting in peace/Finally, finally/I’ll get to fly away, somewhere, someday.”
Soulfly is set to arrive on Friday, March 26. The 19-track project has a sole feature from Chicago native Polo G. Rod Wave’s album is already picking up steam as the release date nears. Thus far, it has topped the Apple Music Pre-Add chart. Check out the single below before the full album arrives on Friday.
