Rihanna recently made history as the first black woman to lead a luxury brand for LVMH. Rihanna announced the news of her luxury fashion brand Fenty last week, and has officially debuted the collection in Paris.
The launch took place in Paris at a pop-up boutique. Olivier Rousteing and Maria Grazia Chiuri, creative directors of Balmain and Dior, were among the several fashion designers in attendance of the launch. In regards to the debut, Rihanna told Vogue,
“It’s definitely different from doing a show, with a show, there are so many moving parts. That’s not to say it hasn’t been hectic, but there is something about the intimacy of doing things this way that I love.”
Fenty will debut to the public in a pop-up shop in Paris beginning on May 24 until June 2. Fenty will then be available for purchase online on May 29 in 14 countries. The full collection can be viewed here.
“It’s nothing that I could dream up. To be respected as a designer of a luxury brand and Bernard Arnault telling me he knows I am a leader and can do this, I took it on because he believed in me,” Rihanna said.
