Report: Lakers Interviewed Kurt Rambis For The Head Coaching Vacancy
The Los Angeles Lakers continue their tedious search for a head coach to replace Mike D’Antoni. The latest to be interviewed is Kurt Rambis, the current Lakers assistant coach, who is reported to be one of five potential candidates for the job. The Lakers have also reportedly interviewed Mike Dunleavy Sr. and Byron Scott, and also plan to interview Lionel Hollins and Alvin Gentry.
Rambis’ standing as the current assistant and his ties with the organization as coach and player might help him, but he also has strong ties with Phil Jackson, whose New York Knicks are also still without a head coach. It seems the Lakers won’t be rushing into their decision after all, but will be exploring any and all feasible options in the process.
