
New York legend Remy Ma will be stepping into Hollywood in the near future. The Love & Hip Hop alumni will be stepping over to the USA Network to make a few guest appearances on Queen of the South. The drama series centers around Teresa Mendoza, played by Alice Braga, who flees Mexico and settles in Dallas after her boyfriend is killed in an incident involving a local drug cartel. Now in Dallas, Mendoza hopes to become the biggest drug dealer in the country and avenge her former lover’s death.

In the third season, Remy Ma will play the role of Vee, a key member of Devon Finch’s security detail. The character of Devon Finch, a Chicago based kingpin, will be played by Jamie Hector, who is best known for playing the role of Marlo on HBO’s critically acclaimed series The Wire. According to Queen of the South, Remy Ma’s character Vee is “efficient in combat and weaponry, courageous, deeply loyal, and can always be depended on by her boss and crew.”
Remy Ma’s role in Queen of the South will be her first recurring acting role in an original series. Prior to Queen of the South, Remy Ma appeared on reality television as herself in VH1’s Love & Hip-Hop: New York series. Remy Ma has also appeared on Fox’s Empire as herself.
This will be a major look for the rapper and actor who is gearing up to release her next album, Seven Winters, Six Summers. Most recently, Remy Ma released “Melanin Magic” featuring Chris Brown.
