The top teams in each conference faced off tonight, and boy was it fun. First of all, the game was close the entire time. Both teams played smart basketball and it really showed why they are at the top of their respective conferences. But one man in the 4th Quarter could not be stopped, scoring 14 points in the quarter alone to help the Toronto Raptors get the win 96-92. That man, you might ask, who is it? Terrence Ross. Terrence Ross killed the night scoring 14 points in the 4th, making 3 three pointers in the quarter as well. Marc Gasol and Zach Randoplh DESTROYED the interior defense of the Raptors, Randoplh (18 points and 18 rebounds) and Gasol (19 Points and 10 Rebounds).
But as exciting as the game was the night did not belong to the Toronto Raptors or Memphis Grizzlies. It belonged to Vince Carter, who can finally receive some closure after being constantly boo’d by Toronto fans over the past 14 years. Last night, the Toronto Raptors commemorating Vince Carter with a 30 second video during a timeout in the 1st quarter. It was very emotional for fans and Vince himself.
It was very emotional, Vince Carter put Toronto on the MAP 12 years ago and he cemented it as a place to become successful. He brought TV deals, endorsements and most importantly wins for the early extension franchise. It’s great that they commemorated him.
