Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman will undergo season-ending Lisfranc surgery on his foot. The update on the team’s rising star wide receiver was provided by Head Coach John Harbaugh on Thursday. He had been missing practices and games due to a foot injury, but this update provided the information that he would miss the rest of the 2022-23 NFL season. The Ravens have a lack of depth at wide receiver and this is a major blow to the offense overall. Baltimore signed DeSean Jackson earlier this season as a depth move.

This season in six games for the Baltimore Ravens, Rashod Bateman caught 15 passes for 285 yards and two touchdowns on 28 targets. Unfortunately, his second NFL has been cut short, but he can focus on recovering and getting back to the field next season. The Baltimore Ravens still believe that they have a future number-one receiver in Bateman. With this news, the team may look to the thin free-agent pool of wide receivers, but it will be up to the current roster to produce more. We here at Def Pen Sports wish Bateman the best in his recovery and eventual return to the football field.
