Rajon Rondo And His Agent Deny He Requested Trade
The trade rumor saga for Boston Celtics guard Rajon Rondo is starting to heighten. According to Mark Murphy of the Boston Herald, a spokesperson for Rondo’s agent Bill Duffy has said that both Rondo and Duffy deny the report that a trade was requested from the Boston Celtics.
The report came from ESPN’s Jackie McMullan, but informally. She was shown in a behind-the-scenes, off-air video clip of “Around The Horn” saying to her fellow panelists, “He (Rondo) said he wants out. And no one believes me, but that’s the truth”.
Rondo, 28, will have the chance to explore free agency next summer. The trade chatter is going to stick with him until we know his true fate. Could that be around the trade deadline if Boston wants to build around their new young guard core? Perhaps, but Rondo also hasn’t really had ample time to play under his new head coach Brad Stevens. These factors will be important to observe for the many eyes and opinions on Rondo this season.
