Academy Award nominee Quvenzhané Wallis is set to star alongside Oshea Jackson Jr. in Apple TV+’s Swagger produced by Kevin Durant.
Swagger “explores the world of youth basketball, and the players, their families and coaches who walk the fine line between dreams and ambition, and opportunism and corruption.” Furthermore, “the show reveals what it’s like to grow up in America.”
Jackson Jr. will star as a former basketball player turned youth basketball coach. Meanwhile, Wallis will play a top basketball recruit.
Winston Duke was originally set to play Jackson Jr.’s role. Unfortunately, an injury sidelined him and kept him from taking part in the series.
“Thank you to Imagine, CBS and Apple TV for the opportunity to have collaborated on this project,” the Black Panther star said.
“As I work toward a full recovery in the coming months, I look forward to joining everyone on future endeavors. Congratulations to O’Shea – I have no doubt that he’ll shine in this role,” Duke said.
