This Friday, Quinn XCII teamed up with Logic for their new track “A Letter to My Younger Self” produced by Cook Classics and Imad Royal. Together, the two put together a reflective, yet inspiring track that puts light into the world during a difficult time. Quinn XCII starts things off by offering words of inspiration for young artists. Logic then discusses how he battled depression at a young age.
“Every second that?you?do,?you dude, you?don’t doubt it/Every?minute that you let them win is time wasted/Every hour you’re not present, I’m sayin’, I’m sayin’, ahh,” the former Michigan State Spartan raps.
“Depression got a hold of me and I don’t wanna get up/Got a hunger deep inside of me, and now I’m gettin’ fed up/I ain’t talkin’ ’bout the money, I don’t need to get the bread up/Talk about your pen game, talk about your passion/F*ck all the pop sh*t, get back to rappin,” the Maryland native raps.
Later on, Logic offers an insight into how he’s been holding up during the COVID-19 pandemic. He even lets fans know that he may be pushing back his next album until 2021 while he spends time with his family during the pandemic.
“Tracklist done, yeah, the tracklist done/But I just might wait ’til 2021/’Cause I wanna love every single day with my son,” Logic raps.
While he may push his next album back until 2021, it appears that Quinn XCII is prepping to release his next project in July. As we near its release, check out “A Letter To My Younger Self” featuring Logic.
