It has been announced that Queen Latifah will star and produce a teen comedy entitled “Paper Chase”. via her Flavor Unit production company. Latifah and her business partner, Shakim Compere, will serve as executive producers along with Gunpowder & Sky Van Toffler.
Writers Angela Tucker and Lauren Domino are credited for creating “Paper Chase”, with Tucker set to direct.
Per a synopsis released, the story will follow a good-hearted New Orleans teenager named Alicia, who is set to go to Kensington University In Atlanta. Unfortunately for Alicia, she cannot afford her tuition fees so a plan is set by her mother and her best friend to throw a fundraising party to raise enough money to send Alicia to college.
Queen Latifah, amongst multiple business ventures, has starred in the hit comedy “Girls Trip” and stars in Fox’s hit series “Star”. ” Paper Chase” is another example of Queen Latifah’s transition Hip Hop icon into a Hollywood mogul.
