Nearly five months have passed since Takeoff was laid to rest. In that period of time, Quavo has remained in the public eye for the most part. He performed at the 2023 Grammy Awards and delivered a tribute to Takeoff called “Without You.” In more recent months, he’s seemingly addressed some of the questions swirling around his career through a track called “Greatness.” Most notably, he made it clear that he would not be reuniting with Offset and releasing a new Migos project. Instead, he’s continued his solo run this Friday with a new track and visual called “Honey Bun.” While the title may be welcoming, the track’s production and lyrics are equally ominous.
“N*ggas singing like Diana Ross, n*gga/I don’t wanna hear no sorry for my loss, n*gga/F*ck it, do some, I just put my roof on it /I don’t give a f*ck about no big homie,” he raps.
“No Huncho, no, fuck it, I’m back on it/Everybody know just how we act on it.”
Quavo is diving headfirst into his solo career. It may be unclear as to when a new project may be coming, but it is clear that he is set on having a steady stream of music hitting streaming services. This weekend, check out “Honey Bun” and be on the lookout for new music from Quavo in the future.
