New York is no stranger to emerging talent in Rap, R&B, Pop and beyond. Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter, Onika “Nicki Minaj” Maraj and Christopher “Notorious B.I.G” Smalls are just a few of the roses to bloom from the concrete garden. While New York is widely known as a garden for talent, most overlook what’s going on in areas outside of the city, but times are changing. Griselda has put Buffalo on the map with their recent success while Syracuse’s own Post Malone has become a Billboard mainstay. As all of that’s going on, a rising artist by the name of QFRMBRICKS is looking to put Poughkeepsie, New York on the map.
Most artists struggled to maintain relevance in 2020, but QFRMBRICKS thrived in the uncertainty that plagued the industry at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. His breakthrough EP, Rich Forever, caught the attention of RESPECT Magazine, Substream Magazine and The American Reporter. Since then, he’s released the BRICKSZN EP and now, he’s back with a new track called “Losses.” The piano-heavy track brings listeners into the heart of QFRMBRICKS’ story. Without the backing of a major city or a major label, the rising New York artist is confident he’ll be the one to overcome the challenges in front of him and build a better life for himself, his friends and his family. In short, he believes the losses he’s faced will set him up for big wins in the future.
“Losses, all my n*ggas [are] bosses,” he raps.
“I took so many losses, but now I’m on that boss sh*t.”
“Losses” sets QFRMBRICKS up for a major run through the second half of the year. Check out the single below and prepare for new music from the Poughkeepsie artist in the near future.
