Glenn Close was originally set to present an award at the 95th Academy Awards. However, she will not be able to attend the ceremony after reportedly testing positive for COVID-19. Members of the media as well as those seated inside of the Dolby Theater are not required to be vaccinated, but are required to test for the virus prior to the ceremony.
Close will not be able to attend this year’s ceremony, but a number of A-list stars will take the stage throughout the evening. Most notably, Jimmy Kimmel will return to host the award show.
“Jimmy is the perfect host to help us recognize the incredible artists and films of our 95th Oscars,” Academy CEO Bill Kramer and Academy President Janet Yang said about Kimmel.
“His love of movies, live TV expertise, and ability to connect with our global audiences will create an unforgettable experience for our millions of viewers worldwide.”
Alongside Kimmel, Michael B. Jordan, Halle Bailey, Jonathan Majors, Janelle Monae, Questlove and several others will present awards. Not to mention, Rihanna is set to perform during this year’s ceremony. The 95th Academy Awards are set to air live from the Dolby Theater in California on ABC at 8 p.m. EST on Sunday, March 12.
