Pusha T’s visit to The Daily Show included talk about his Grammy nomination as well as beef with rapper Drake. Interviewed by host Trevor Noah, Pusha T openly discussed not only the creative process behind his album but also his controversial album cover.
Daytona, Pusha T’s 2018 summer release kicked off his surgical summer. At only seven tracks, Daytona held up against 18 track anthologies released by his peers, earning a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album. Not following the trend, Pusha T calls the project “all killer, no filler.”

The interview continued to discuss his rap peers, citing Meek Mill as a favorite and the two artist’s long-time relationship. Pusha T shared that Meek Mill was even popping wheelies in one of his early videos.
Pusha T’s appearance on The Daily Show also covered his standing beef with Drake. Both Trevor Noah and Pusha T discussed the relevancy of Rap battles in current Hip-Hop. Although the Pusha T and Drake war ended, Pusha T confidently proclaims that he crossed no boundaries.
Trevor Noah confronted Pusha T, citing his disdain for the signature “Make America Great Again” ball-cap while working with Kanye West. Pusha T claims Yeezy no-longer sports the red hat, repeatedly saying “he stopped.”
