Puma is celebrating 50 years of Hip-Hop with the help of Roc Nation Co-Founder Emory Jones and accomplished footwear designer Alex John. Together, the trio is ready to unveil the “Mixtape” collection. Complete with original footwear and apparel, the collection “pays homage to an important piece of hip-hop history: the mixtape.”
The main piece of the Mixtape collection is the PUMA RS-XL. The shoe is offered in three different versions inspired by different mixtape formats, including cassettes, CDs and playlists. The design of the shoe is complemented by an LGT Tag. Each week, the NFC-powered chip can be scanned to unlock ” a digital portal featuring exclusive content, weekly mixtape drops and unfettered access to life behind the scenes as a Roc Nation artist.”
Puma’s “Mixtape” collection will be available for purchase beginning July 14 online and in-store at Foot Locker, Champs Sports and Champs Sports Canada.
