Power Rankings: Deal With The Devil

Power

When Starz launched Power in the summer of 2014, the show picked up attention and fanfare as it went along. Courtney Kemp built up a reputation based on taking risks and innovative storytelling. It was known as the show where anyone could die at any moment. However, the show has received a bit of criticism lately because of its grandeur nature and larger than life moments. With that being said, it’s safe to say that Power has returned to its roots in the last few episodes. Earlier this season, fans said goodbye to the best lawyer in the game, Joseph Proctor. This week, the show lost one of its staple characters, LaKeisha Grant. Murdered by her best friend, LaKeisha was looking for a way out of the life and found a way out that wasn’t to her liking. In the wake of her murder, the tone has been set. It’s the final season and anyone can get cut. Who’s next?

1. Councilman Rashad Tate

During the final season of Power, there has been a common thread between all of the major deaths. Joseph Proctor, LaKeisha Grant and a few others have died when they tried to find a way out while taking someone out. Proctor was killed by Tommy when he was trying to use evidence against Tommy as a way to exit the game gracefully. LaKeisha was killed when she tried to exit Tommy’s life by entering witness protection. Now, Tate is out of a shot at the governor’s seat and he’ll likely try to take Ghost down with him. If that’s the case, Ghost or someone connected to him will likely take him out. It’ll probably be Derek.

2. Cooper Saxe

Saxe is an interesting character. Unlike most characters, he wants to remain in the St. Patrick and Eagan business. Meanwhile, Proctor, LaKeisha and many others were trying to leave it when they were killed. Ultimately, Saxe is a liability for everyone involved. He’s a liability for the federal authorities. He’s a liability for the St. Patricks and Eagan family because he won’t stop looking into their business. Not to mention, Dre would love to put a bullet in his head. Saxe has no one backing him and that can ultimately cost him his life.

3. Tasha St. Patrick

At one point, Tasha and Tommy were like brother and sister. Now, she’s responsible for murdering the love of his life. Before, Tommy had no one to blame for Holly’s death but himself. With LaKeisha, he’s going to give it everything he has to kill the person responsible for her death. First, he’ll blame Ghost because he’s the obvious suspect. Once he figures out that Ghost was last seen with Tate and Tasha is responsible, he’ll kill her. It’s only a matter of time.

4. 2-Bit

Somehow we went an entire episode without Tommy finding out that Dre killed B.G. With Dre free of federal oversight, he’s going to get back to business. When that happens, he’ll likely come face to face with 2-Bit and that will be the end of that.

5. Tommy Eagan

— Power (@Power_STARZ) October 14, 2019

For weeks, it seemed almost inevitable that Tommy and Ghost would make it to the end of the season. Given the executions of both LaKeisha and Proctor, it’s possible that one of the show’s three leading characters could die before the series finale. Tommy is going to lose his mind trying to pinpoint who killed LaKeisha and why. In doing so, he could put himself at odds with Ghost, Jason or another person who is moving with a strategy rather than an emotional vendetta.
