
PJ Morton will headline a four-day celebration at Clemson University honoring the life and legacy of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The GRAMMY Award-winning innovator will be the keynote speaker at the 43rd annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Keynote Program at the Brooks Center for the Performing Arts on Tuesday, January 21. Open to the public, the event is set to begin at 6 p.m. and will also present the institution’s MLK Excellence in Service Awards.
“Clemson’s annual MLK Commemorative Celebration is more than just a tradition—it’s a powerful reminder of our shared responsibility to honor Dr. King’s legacy through reflection, service, and community,” Harvey and Lucinda Gantt Multicultural Center Director Rebecca Harkless said.
“From our roots as a student-led initiative in 1982 to the multi-day experience it is today, this celebration continues to bring our campus and community together in meaningful ways.”
The 43rd annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Keynote Program is one event in a four-day celebration at the home of the tigers. The university will also host a day trip to the International African American Museum on Saturday, January 18, a day of service on Monday, January 20 and an interfaith community dinner on Wednesday, January 22.
