
Prentice Penny has united with Martyna Majok to develop a new series for HBO based on the play, Queens. Majok will adapt her play for the small screen and work as an executive producer. Penny and Alex Soler will also serve as executive producers.
Queens is a play written by Majok that examines the lives of immigrant women who come together in an apartment in Queens. Along the way, they grapple with the questions they have regarding their hopes, dreams, insecurities and desires.
This is Penny’s latest project with HBO. He is best known throughout the network for his contributions to the hit comedy series, Insecure. He’s also worked on popular shows like Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Scrubs. Moving forward, he’s expanding his reach to Netflix where he’ll be directing an original project called Uncorked.
