In case you spent yesterday under a rock, the Pelicans now have DeMarcus Cousins on their roster. They didn’t give up Anthony Davis. Or Jrue Holiday. And only one first-round pick. That’s top-3 protected. Now, the Pelicans are shopping power forward Terrence Jones after both parties mutually agreed to move on from one another, reports ESPN’s Chris Haynes:
New Orleans now seeking trade partner for forward Terrence Jones, league sources tell ESPN. Mutual decision on behalf of team, Jones' camp.

Jones has had a great season for the Pelicans, averaging 11.5 points and 5.9 rebounds in 24.8 minutes per game. The highlight of his year came when the Pelicans took down the Cavaliers last month. Jones poured in 36 points on 13/18 shooting while pulling down 11 rebounds and blocking three shots.
Because of his success this season, the Pelicans can likely sell high on the Kentucky product at this point. As for why Jones wants to move on, he’s obviously not going to be a starter in New Orleans as long as Davis and Cousins stick around. This is a decision that makes sense for both parties, assuming New Orleans can get a good return to bolster their depth.
