The Wonder Woman sequel has found its next villain! It had been assumed for a long time that after the success of the first instalment of the female heroine starring the ever so talented Gal Gadot, that Gadot and her directing buddy Patty Jenkins would both return to take on the sequel and make Wonder Woman a franchise. Since then, we’ve heard that both Gadot and Jenkins will return along with some of the cast from the first movie.
In Wonder Woman, we got to see Diana Prince (Gadot) learn the ropes of becoming the world’s first superhero, facing off against Ares, the God of War. Now, it looks as though in the sequel, Wonder Woman will be facing off against one of her deadliest foes, Cheetah. There had been rumours that the fast running and claw bearing villain would be involved in the sequel but Patty Jenkins has now confirmed it and casted the role. Jenkins took to Twitter to announce that Kristen Wiig will be donning the Cheetah costume:
So excited to confirm the most thrilling news. Yes! It’s true! So incredibly lucky to welcome the sensationally talented Kristen Wiig to our Wonder Woman family. Can't wait to finally work with one of my favorites. And SO excited by what we have planned. #Cheetah!!! @GalGadot pic.twitter.com/Gn0jICiIAH

The oscar nominated Wiig is most known for her comedic abilities and less known for being in any action movies of any sort so it will be interesting to see how she takes on the role of Cheetah, a slick-talking villain that is envious of Wonder Woman and the beauty she possesses. Wonder Woman 2 is set to release November 2019 with Jenkins, Gadot and Wiig all confirmed for the film.
