With so many potential trades likely to take place during draft night, one big name that was rumored to be on the move is now set to stay put. According to Indy Star’s J. Michael, the Pacers won’t trade Myles Turner ahead of the NBA Draft. The Pelicans were seeking to acquire Myles Turner at the trade deadline when the Pacers were inquiring about Jrue Holiday. However, no deal was agreed to then and now again Turner is expected to stay put.
Turner’s name has come up a lot in scenarios but I’ve been told by league sources he won’t be moved. When #Pacers asked about Jrue Holiday @ deadline that’s what it would’ve cost. On a great contract, rim protecting, 3p shooter, away from the rim defending bigs=hard to find

The Pelicans could use a center in their frontcourt with Anthony Davis now out of the picture, and Myles Turner is a popular trade target around the league. Still just 23 years old, Turner presents incredible upside on a fairly team-friendly 4-year, $80 million deal.
Turner has already shown his prowess as one of the league’s best shot blockers and his ability to defend on the perimeter is rare for a big man his size. Turner runs the floor well in transition and has a good touch from inside and outside, though some of his game can use some polishing.
It made sense for the Pelicans to expect Turner in return when the Pacers inquired about Jrue Holiday at the deadline. Holiday is an excellent guard in his own right and would’ve been a huge pickup for the Pacers. Regardless though, it seems as if Turner isn’t headed anywhere soon, and Holiday will play alongside New Orleans’ exciting young core.
