Oprah Winfrey has partnered with Apple to launch the Oprah’s Book Club podcast and Apple TV+. The podcast launched September 8, 2020 and the series will debut later this year.
The first book to be selected for the series is Isabel Wilkerson’s Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents. The eight-part series will feature in-depth conversations with Wilkerson and Winfrey about her writing process, research and much more.
Published in August, Wilkerson’s latest work focuses on the underlying hierarchy that has shaped economic and social development within America. Prior to her most recent work, the Howard University alum had worked as the Chicago bureau chief for The New York Times and won the Pulitzer Prize for Feature Writing. She also published her first book, The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America’s Great Migration, in 2010. It was named one of The New York Times’ best books of the year.
Winfrey and Wilkerson’s first episode is now available through Apple podcasts.
