The Top Rank roster has just gotten a bit bigger. Months after taking home medals at the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan, Richard Torrez and Keyshawn Davis have signed multi-year promotional deals with Top Rank.
Keyshawn Davis joins the Top Rank team with three fights under his belt. He will enter the ring for his fourth professional fight on December 11 at Madison Square Garden. His fight will set the stage for Vasiliy Lomachenko vs. Richard Commey later that evening.
I think Top Rank was the best move for me because they build the best fighters for sure and they have the best network [ESPN] for sure,” Davis told ESPN.
“I’m the Olympian coming into the pros.”
Unlike Davis, Richard Torrez Jr. has not made his professional debut. After taking home a medal in the super heavyweight division at the 2021 Summer Olympic Games, Torrez Jr. will make his heavyweight pro debut in early 2022.
“I’m a firm believer that I am the most conditioned heavyweight out there and I’ll stick to my word,” Torrez Jr. explained to ESPN.
“I can go anywhere from 220 to 240 [pounds]. It really just depends on the style that I want to have and the fight that I wanna bring to the table. I want to be heavyweight champion of the world.”
