Asking someone what or who NSG is, feels a lot like asking someone who is the best player in the NBA right now. You’ll get five different answers to the same question. NSG can translate to “No Sleep Gang,” “New Sound Group” or even “Never Stop Growing.” Furthermore, the music that they make could be classified as Afroswing, Afrotrap or even Afrobeats. Regardless of their name, genre or classification, one thing is certainly true about NSG. They make really dope music and their latest single, “Petite,” is greatest example of that.
Produced by the legendary JAE5, “Petite” has an airy vibe with a bit of a bounce. Throughout the track, Mojo, OGD and company rap about coming from the bottom and reaching the highest of heights in music.
“I put the fashion in fashionably late/Been puttin’ work and nothin’ ain’t changed/Power in me from my ancestry/Got me seein’ things I could never have seen,” Papii Abz raps.
“Don’t just do this for elómì/Do it for the squad, family/Don’t pretend you’re a friend with me/Vibes tell me you’re an enemy.”
“Petite” wraps up a great weekend in music that included releases from Lizzo, Wale, Benny The Butcher, Wizkid and several others. Check out the video below.
